Pier 7 SF
Pier 7 stretches straight into the heart of San Francisco, perfectly aligned with the Transamerica Pyramid and framed by a corridor of glowing lanterns. This image captures one of those rare winter sunsets when the sky ignites in deep crimson and violet, turning the bay and skyline into a dramatic stage of light and reflection. The long exposure softens the water and enhances the warmth of the lamps, creating a calm, cinematic path leading directly into the city.

McClures Beach at Sunset
Tucked along the remote northern edge of Point Reyes National Seashore, McClures Beach reveals a raw and untamed stretch of California coastline. Here, the setting sun slips perfectly between rugged sea stacks, sending radiant beams across the sand while a hidden waterfall created by the ocean waves exists only moments. Long exposure transforms the moving water into a silky veil, amplifying the serene yet powerful atmosphere of this secluded cove.

Golden Gate From Marshalls Beach
Captured from the rugged shoreline beneath the Golden Gate Bridge, this view reveals the iconic span rising boldly above the swirling Pacific surf. Long exposure transforms the rushing waves into smooth ribbons of motion, creating a striking contrast against the bridge’s powerful steel lines and the sunlit Marin Headlands beyond. Filoli Garden House
Golden evening light filters through dramatic clouds, illuminating the stately brick Garden House reflected in the still pond below. Blue Hour Golden Gate
As dusk fades into blue hour, the Golden Gate Bridge glows softly against a painted sky of indigo, lavender, and warm sunset embers. The long exposure smooths the bay into a glassy calm, allowing the illuminated span to stretch gracefully between San Francisco and Marin. Deer Creek Rapids
Nestled in the forest along Deer Creek, sunlight dances across moss-covered boulders and the soft, flowing water of the stream. Time for a Drink!
An African elephant drinks peacefully at a quiet waterhole, its reflection perfectly mirrored in the still surface below. The golden light of late afternoon bathes the scene, casting long shadows and illuminating the lone tree standing watch in the background. Reflecting on El Capitan
El Capitan is a vertical rock formation in Yosemite National Park, on the north side of Yosemite Valley, near its western end. El Capitan is made of hard granite, allowing it to resist the pressures of glaciers and erosion, giving it its typical pattern! Yosemite Feb 2025.
Corneros Region View Napa
As the sun sets over the Carneros region of Napa Valley, golden light spills across the vineyard rows leading to a charming white farmhouse nestled among the vines. The contrast between the lush greens and the dry, rolling hills captures the beauty of wine country in late season. It’s a peaceful moment that reflects the warmth and timeless rhythm of Napa’s landscape. Oct. 2025.
Belize City Waterfront
Brightly painted buildings line the Belize City waterfront, their bold colors reflected in the calm harbor waters below. The mix of shaded walkways, small shops, and open sky captures the relaxed rhythm of life at the port, where land and sea meet in vivid contrast. Photographed December 2025.
Olsen Barn and Mt Lassen
The historic Olsen Barn stands proudly at the edge of Olsen Meadow, framed by golden aspens and the snow-capped peak of Mount Lassen rising in the distance. Oregon Multnomah Falls
Off I-84 outside of Portland along the Colombia River Multonamah Falls is Oregon’s tallest waterfall, at 620 feet tall. It is very likely you have heard of or at least seen a picture of these falls. The iconic bridge sits over the tier in the falls, making the waterfall look straight out of a fantasy.
Powell and California Cable Car View
The view down California Street at Powell captures one of San Francisco’s most iconic scenes, with a cable car climbing the steep hill against a backdrop of the Bay and the Bay Bridge. The towering buildings frame the view perfectly, while the tracks guide your eye straight toward the sparkling water. It’s a quintessential moment that blends the city’s historic charm with its dramatic landscape. April 2025.

Filoli Gardens Gardens Clock Tower
Perfectly manicured gardens lead the eye toward a tranquil reflecting pool framed by lush greenery and vibrant blooms, all set beneath the elegant clock tower of the estate. The harmony of symmetry, color, and structure embodies the timeless beauty of Filoli’s formal gardens. This photograph was taken at Filoli Gardens Oct. 2025.
Falmouth Fishing Boats
Small fishing boats rest just offshore in the fishing village of Falmouth, Jamaica, their bright paint and hand-lettered names reflecting daily life along the coast. Looking at Mt. Lassen from across Lake Almanor
Lassen Peak, commonly referred to as Mount Lassen, is a 10,457 ft lava dome volcano in Lassen Volcanic National Park in Northern California.
Mr. Confident
This striking image captures a powerful male lion striding through the tall grass at Londolozi, his intense gaze fixed ahead with regal confidence. Point Lobos Coast
Here, powerful waves crash against weathered granite formations along the coast of Point Lobos State Reserve, creating a mesmerizing display of motion and color. Our friend the Zebra
The Plains Zebra stands alert, its black-and-white stripes vivid against the golden grass, eyes fixed directly on me with quiet curiosity. Its ears twitch and nostrils flare slightly, sensing but not fearing. For a moment, it feels like a shared stillness between two very different worlds. May 2025
Dynamic Trio
Zulu Nyala Private Game Reserve in South Africa is home for this trio of elephants. These are African bush elephants and are the largest land animal on Earth, recognized by its large ears shaped like the African continent and its long, curved tusks. It plays a crucial role in the ecosystem by shaping landscapes, digging for water, and dispersing seeds through its dung. May 2025.
El Capitan from Merced River View
Standing across the Merced River, the view of El Capitan is nothing short of majestic. The river’s gently rippling surface acts like a natural mirror, reflecting the immense granite face of El Capitan with startling clarity. The sheer wall, with its rugged textures and weathered crevices, rises boldly against the sky, exuding a timeless strength. Yosemite Feb 2025.
Kuau Cove
Kuau Cove, which is commonly also called Mama's Fish House Beach since most visitors experience this beach as a photo op prior to dining at Mama's Fish House, which sits just back from this beach.
